Need help plugging in your ingenie box?

It’s super simple to plug in your self-fit box - just follow these 3 steps.
Turn ignition off
1. Turn the ignition off

2. Find your car’s OBD port using our box location checker above
Plug OBD in
3. Plug your self-fit box into your OBD port by pressing firmly until the box is securely in place

You’ll get an email to let you know if this was successful and whether we’re receiving data from the box correctly. This may take up to 24 hours - so don’t worry if it doesn’t come through straight away.

What’s an OBD port?

An OBD, or an on-board diagnostics port if you like to be fancy, is a technical term for a socket in your car that can give out data on how the car’s performing. But we’re only interested in the how you’re driving bit.

If you notice that the light isn’t visible or that your feedback isn’t coming through, please call us as soon as possible on 0333 2309 272.It’s part of your insurance to have a working box in your car so unplugging or interfering with the box may mean we may have to cancel your policy.
