ingenie will collect personal information such as your name, email address, date of birth, driving test dates and GPS location in order to be able to service your app.
If you wish to receive information about ingenie’s products please opt in to marketing consent during the registration process. We may use your data to give you information on ingenie’s products and services that we think may be of interest to you. You can opt out of receiving marketing at any time by emailing learnerapp@ingenie.com.
Personal data will be kept by us for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in these terms and conditions. Please see our full privacy notice on our website for more information.
We may share the results of anonymised driving data collected by the ingenie Learner Driver app with ingenie partners. If we choose to do this, we will share results at an aggregated level and won’t release any information that can be used in any way to identify you personally.
ingenie may disclose your personally identifiable information, without notice, only if required to do so by a court order or in the good faith that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights of ingenie or if there are exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of other users of the app or the public.
Your information may be transferred to, stored and processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA). ingenie and our third parties may use cloud based computer systems (i.e. network of remote servers hosted on the internet which process and store your information) to which foreign law enforcement agencies may have the power to access. However, we will not transfer your information outside the EEA unless it is to a country which is considered to have sound data protection laws or we have taken all reasonable steps to ensure the firm has suitable standards in place to protect your information.
You are entitled to receive a copy of the information we have captured and hold about you including your driving data. The Learner app has NO impact on your ingenie car insurance policy whatsoever. You can use the app without having a policy with ingenie.
The app is automatically set to use mobile data, if you decide you do not want to use your mobile data allowance you can switch this to WiFi in ‘More’ and ‘Settings’. For a journey of 1 hour this app will use approximately 50KB of data (which is roughly 5% of a Google search). ingenie are not liable for any data charges you incur as a result of using this app.
Please note this app is designed for use in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland only. It will record journeys outside of these regions if a recording is initiated. ingenie are not liable for any roaming charges incurred because of using the Learner app abroad. You will need to check your license and insurance to see if driving outside of these regions is permitted.
Subject to your privacy settings, you may share some of your information held within the app, such as journey summaries, trophies achieved and countdown to your tests. If you decide to share your activities with social networks it is possible that unintended people could have access to such information. You should use caution when sharing information via third parties and you should carefully review the privacy practices of such third parties. ingenie holds no responsibility for sharing activity.
