ingenie partner with Driver 1 as their insurer of choice
Changing our minds is part of what makes us human.
We go to parties and we're already lining up our excuse to leave. We see a new top online and we're checking whether there's free returns before we've even bought it. We get a new phone but we're already sussing out when our upgrade is due. Sound familiar?
Flexibility and immediacy are what we all want - especially when it comes to the big, expensive stuff.
At ingenie, we don't think new or young drivers should have to put up with driving rubbish first-cars - just because they're new to driving and may not be able to splash the cash as readily. And conveniently, there's a new kid on the block who thinks exactly the same.
We wanted to design the service around ‘young drivers’, and ensure it meets their needs, which have changed a lot for the current young generation. The car industry has not moved in line with the requirements of this age group, so Driver 1 is here to change that.
Driver 1 are the first to offer a car subscription service with first-car drivers at the heart of what they do. Their entire product has been built to fit in with the lifestyle and needs of young drivers, making it more affordable for them to pay monthly for their car and return it when they no longer need it.
How Driver 1 works with ingenie
Choose your car
The first step (and the best bit) is choosing your car - and you won't see any old bangers here. All the cars provided by Driver 1 are nearly new - between 3 and 5 years old - PLUS they sit nicely in low insurance and tax groups which means they're ideal for new and young drivers.
The range of cars on offer from Driver 1 will have you feeling like a kid in a candy shop - from hatchbacks, city cars and superminis.
Design your monthly plan
Once you've chosen your new set of wheels, you'll need to select a payment plan that suits you. Whether you want the car for a year, 2 years or longer, plans start from £96 a month.
You can use Driver 1's finance calculator to help you check what works for your budget and you'll have a 14-day money-back promise too if the car's not for you - because yeah, we're human.
Select your pick-up point
To make the process even easier, you can arrange a date to collect your car from a Driver 1 depot or - if you can't find space in your diary - you can request to have your car delivered, straight to your doorstep.
Now there's a delivery worth staying home for.
Get your finance quote
Once you've built your tailor-made plan, Driver 1 will email you your finance quotes with a summary of everything you've chosen.
Your quote will include a whole bundle of useful car stuff for extra cover and piece of mind:
- Delivery to your home
- Breakdown cover
- MOT and road tax
- Service plan
- Part exchange available
If you're happy with the details and you've added any extra products or services you need (like part-exchanging a car you already have) then Driver 1 will reserve the car for you.
Most cars can be delivered to you in as little as 48 hours! There really is no hanging around here.
Buy your ingenie insurance
You've got your monthly subscription sorted, but before you can drive off into the sunset you're going to need to sort yourself some car insurance.
ingenie (that's us!) have partnered with Driver 1 to take the hassle out of searching for providers for hours on end. You'll get an email taking you through to ingenie's homepage, where you can enter your details and get a direct quote for your new car.
Why ingenie? Well, because you can earn money back 3 times a year just for driving safely. We'll send an engineer to fit a black box in your new car at a time and a place that works for you, (hey - why not arrange it for the same day it's delivered?) and as a good driver, you'll be rewarded with money off your insurance at 3, 6 and 9 months.
You'll be insured to drive straight away and there's no curfews to worry about - so you're free to drive whenever and wherever you want.
