Have a delicious Easter but go easy on the roads, huh?
I know, I know. I say it every year. We get to a bank holiday - the first bank holiday of the year that isn't New Year Hangover Day - and we lose it. I mean, we just LOSE it.
Here's what happens on the roads at Easter
Last year, you guys drove 6% more miles over the Easter bank holiday weekend than usual. That doesn't sound much but we actually saw a 47% increase in journeys over 50 miles and 25% more night driving.
You were on the road for longer and later - 2 things that can seriously affect your safety. Statistically, you're more likely to crash at night, so make sure you're up to the drive if you're out late or on a long journey.
Those extra miles you did? They weren't all plain sailing: there was a 25% increase in speeding events and a 14% increase in harsh cornering events.
