You lot keep getting caught out by twentification

Hey folks, it seems a lot of towns are changing 30mph zones to 20 limits at the moment. Our driver support guys keep seeing the same speeding issues because of the changes (which they're calling twentification), which so far include London, Bristol, Brighton and Manchester.

And they could be coming to a town near you very soon.

What are you supposed to do about it?

Yeah, it sucks when the drive you're used to suddenly changes - but it's up to you to notice, I'm afraid. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security just because you've driven a route a thousand times. Every road is different every single day - you just never know what you might come across.

Time to sharpen up!

How to spot zones that are likely to change:

  1. Pedestrian crossings
  2. Regular lamp posts
  3. Schools
  4. Shops
Never forget that your stopping distance at 30mph is nearly 50% further than at 20mph. That makes you 50% more likely to hit that kid than if you'd stuck to 20.

Check out our 5 biggest reasons to slow down for speed limit changes.
