#WinterWarmUp 2: the emergency kit

ingenie Winter Warm-up 2: packing your emergency kit infographic

Half the battle is in the preparation

If you prepare yourself well for winter driving, you'll have a lot less stress when the weather gets weird. You just never know what's going to hit you over the course of a British season, so you need to be prepared for anything.

First on the list is your emergency kit - and trust me, you'll thank your lucky stars for the jumper and the torch when it all gets a bit real down some dark country lane.

What you need Why you need it
Jump leads Don't let the cold stop you before you've started
Ice scraper Once in the morning might not be enough
De-icer Keep things clear all day
Warm clothes and blanket Getting stuck in snow is NOT fun
Road map Phones run out of battery - maps don't
First aid kit A bandage at the right time could save a life
Torch For a country lane breakdown nightmare
Sunglasses You never know - the sun COULD come out!
Spare batteries There's no point having a torch if it's dead
