Drugalyser tests expected over Christmas

Untitled design (26)

New drug driving limits for 16 illegal and prescription drugs are scheduled to be enforced from March 2015.

However, it looks like the new drugalyser kits could be used over the Christmas period, as approval for the testing system came through last week. The test involves a saliva swab, which returns a result within 12 minutes.

Positive tests will result in a trip to the police station for a follow up test - not easy to explain to your family while their Christmas dinner gets cold.

If you're driving, don't risk being impaired. Ruining your own Christmas could be the least of your worries.
