ingenie Customer Services Manager raises over £3,000 for charity Brake
Our Customer Services Manager, Stuart Hayward completed the gruelling 26.2 mile London Marathon on Sunday in aid of road safety charity Brake.
Brake are a road safety charity dedicated to making our roads safer. They aim to reduce the needless deaths and serious injuries that happen on UK roads every day. They also offer support to the individuals and families who have been devastated by road deaths and serious injuries
Stuart's training included 3-4 runs a week with his longest run pre-marathon being 20 miles. Despite picking up a knee injury during training, Stuart powered on through the training and the marathon, finishing in 4 hours 19 minutes
During my time working at ingenie I've heard many stories on the effect road crashes have on young people and their families. That's why I chose to run the marathon for Brake - in the hope that I can help make a difference. Even if it's a small one!Stuart Hayward, ingenie Customer Services Manager
Running a marathon certainly takes its toll, Stuart tells us " I felt pretty good straight afterwards, but for the three days after that it was a bit of a struggle". Despite this he is tempted to run it again!
All that training and pain paid off though, as so far he's raised £3,535.73 for Brake, which is a huge contribution to help them continue the great work they do. If you'd like to make a donation, you can do so by clicking the button below.Make a donation
