Morning-after drink-driving arrests are on the up

Arrests for drink driving the morning after are on the up, according to new reports.

Police figures for 2011/12 suggest that drink drive arrests taking place between 6 and 8 am increased by 4% last year, while research by road safety charity Brake found that more than half of young drivers are risking lives by driving first thing in the morning after drinking a lot the night before.

So it seems that many people are still getting behind the wheel while over the limit, without even realising it.

We want to highlight this issue to make sure everyone stays safe and legal over the festive period, so they're not left facing the consequences after a drink drive conviction.

THE CONSEQUENCES

The consequences of of getting caught driving the next morning after drinking are exactly the same as drink driving the night before – after all you’re still driving while over the limit.
